Do you have a slope that you could dig a chanel to get rid of excess water?,10" is a little to much water and could cause root rot.the bottomless pots would help this or mounding up the soil as mentioned b4. Is it the wet season where you are? as the water level could change and not be such a worry.but worms don't like water and are afraid of drowning,but if they are there in abundance I would think you would be ok.
