The mix is 50% perlite/50% turface..I know the top of the mix looks like there's not a heck of a lot of perlite in it, but I purposely put a higher amount of turface on the upper 1cm of the bucket to hold down the perlite in the rest of the bucket. Do I sound crazy? It does keep the perlite from floating up when watering later on i've found.

Those are seedlings right after been transplanted to 6" pots but I do the same thing to clones.
I put a solo cup over them for a few days.
The light still goes through so no harm to keep them a little longer domed.
Do you put any holes at all in the solo cups or just prop them up a bit at the bottom? Can't tell from the pic but I'd think there's got to be some air exchange. Mine are too big for solo cups but maybe a 2 liter bottle cut in half..I'll go fish one out of the recycle bin now lol
