ehhh this is the old "stress the plant out so that it will work harder" which seems like speculative theory at best to me. The way I see it, the less stressed the plant is the more resources are freed up to build the essential blocks to bigger better buds. I'd like to see all the tricks put through scientific scrutiny and find out what's true and what's not. One method I belive in is bringing the relative humidity down as low as possible in the final weeks of flowering. This causes the plant to want to seal up and retain its moister by increasing resin production. Another one I've seen by very reliable sources (GD2K for one) is that a Metal Halide light has some UVB rays which are good for trichome production.
