VooDoo, I used to do that before, scrape the stem about a 1" and criss-cross a cut on the stem too, but I notice that, was very easy to wound the core of the stem while scraping it, then the clone will go to shock and take 10-12 days to root.
Since I'm cloning mass amounts of clones lately, I decided to play a little bit with them.
Like, first I stopped using RO water, and I filled the cup with tap water from the faucet, and I cloned 18 of them, they grew with no problems at all.
After that, I clone the next 18, with tap water, and this time I didn't scrape the stem.
Again, no problems with them.
Then I cloned 16 more, again with just tap water, cloning powder from HD, and Pro-Mix used soil.
All those 52 clones, are the ones you see in my other thread flowering right now, a week away from harvest.
And the clones you see in the above picks, were taken last week and this week, the same way, and as you see they are some happy little plants.
Those will veg for three weeks, trying to double my harvest next grow around.
If I keep the humidity in the dome around 90% I get them to root in 4-7 days.
Hope that helps a bit my friend.
Happy cloning.
