small seeds, even seeds that look white or green, can often sprout.

dont dismiss any seed out of hand.

i wouldnt dismiss a seed that didnt sink either.

what you can do is squeeze them a little bit, if they pop, they dud.

if they hard and still wont sprout, you can scuff them a lil with a fine sandpaper.

ive had seeds take up to 3 weeks to sprout. *papertowel method*

because of that i like the papertowel method, as time goes by, some seeds will soften up, those were just duds with a hard shell. this way i can check them.

if you use heat, its better to have a closed container, perhaps a tiny hole in it or open daily. misting the papertowels as needed.
