if they are using FLIR on your house, or grow, you are already screwed. an investigation had already begun. it wont matter what you use to hide it with. only unless there is some way you have inside information of an impending raid on your grow, then you could just dismantle and remove the evidence before the raid even takes place.

most of your bills are also private, usually requiring a warrant to view them as well. depending on the governing entity of the utility company you are paying (state or private owned) they do not share information with the feds, without a warrant. utility bills alone, do not usually start an investigation, either.

the investigation usually starts with someone you know, or someone that is nosy enough to get into your business. someone that doesnt like you. it could be that grumpy elderly nosy neighbor, that watches you smoke pot on your porch, everyday. it could be that ex girfriend/boyfriend that you just pissed off the other day. this is how investigations start. someone complains to the local police something. then the investigation begins.

Hey bobbooty, I'm just about to go into construction and have some concerns about FLIR. I've read somewhere on this thread that a person using a 400wHPS should not worry too much about their IR footprint. Especially with the right amount of IR block.

I've also had someone tell me that I don't need to worry too much, using a single 1000wHPS. I want to use IR block to wrap my closet doors with, to block any IR from the grow space, and the exhaust, which will be mounted to a board along the side of the closet door frame. Venting toward the doors, which will have the IR block.

I may not be able to completely seal off this IR wrap with tape, as this will be the entrance to my grow. But if a single 1000wHPS is somewhat managable, then the IR block on the doors should conceal the exhaust exit fairly well? The doors shut snug in the door frame, so with the IR block, it should create a decent seal. Barry Cooper says that a single 1000wHPS could easily be exhausted within the home, and would not reveal any concentrated hot spots. What do you think?

Any ideas? Thanks

PS: For everyone else who is also a little paranoid, havr you all considered purchasing a handheld IR reading device? I saw them on amazon.com for different prices. The dude on the LiquidLumens demo video on youtube uses one to demonstrate the effectiveness of the light. Check these out, and let me know what you think. I'm probably going to pick one up for good measure.
