P.Viridis Germination

Day 1. The wait begins.

Attempting to germinate 11 of these. The problem seems to stem from the fact that they can take up to 6 months to pop, in that time, I guess bacteria can get onto the seed and kill the embryo.

I will divide the seeds into two groups and try several methods:

- 4 seeds were scuffed, then soaked in a mild bleach solution (1 part bleach to 9 parts water) soaked for around 20 minutes. Seeds were then rinsed and placed in a cup of water for 24 hours. Water replaced every 8 hours.

- 7 seeds were scuffed, then soaked in water for 24 hours. Water replaced every 8 hours.

Germination will be divided into several mediums. Propagation sand, vermiculite, perlite and a straight seed raising soil mix.

I was also thinking to water some of the seedlings with a H202 solution every couple of weeks...
