thanks for the suggestion - so i can put a little borax in my soil - but actually my biggest problem is the earwigs that are eating my hydro plants ..... (i'm growing in both mediums to test what i prefer)
i have never tried it directly in soil myself.. but it doesnt harm the plant it actually is used
to cure boron deficiencies as well as insect control. just make sure you dilute it if your going to use it on soil.
so should i spread some borax on the floor?! this scares me because of my cats! I have my grow room in my basement - and i can only imagine the little beasts are coming in my little basement windows i have in that room - i was thinking about sealing them off with some kind of plastic and hot glue or something to make a seal -
they actually sell liquified ant killer or boric acid.. i imagine it works for earwigs as well if applied directly to the earwig and their dwelling.

I wouldn't put the borax powder in your house around your cats..but in areas where it wont be easily disturbed like the basement corners or grow room corners in this case.. it should be fine. Outside you can apply it to cracks, anthills as well as earwig dwellings.
i'm interested in this diatomaceaous earth - but I can't find a place to purchase it except for online - and i was trying to get it sooner than later- i might just need to order it online!!
nursery or landscape suppliers should carry it.
