Yeah I think a res that size should last two weeks, sometimes I've used one 1//2 that size for two weeks with good results.
I was using a big sheet of Poly and taping it to the edges of the tray, then cutting holes in it and installing the plants, then using foil tape to tape the slits back up... That seemed to work well.
