well i went out and got some of the liquified ant killer, but due to paranoia about the cats getting in there, i couldn't just spread it around - so i bought little traps - and i'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad i did! about 3 days later, i started to have a bit of an ant problem - i put the little traps where they were coming in, and i had to throw the traps away each day they were filling up with ants!! the ants obviously got the picture and are leaving me alone now! but the earwigs also seemed to be interested in the ant killer and crawl into those traps as well!

Also, I ended up purchasing some food grade diatomacious earth (i figured if you could eat it, it wouldn't kill my precious kittys) - and i've since spread it all around the perimeter of my house! - makes me wonder, if i didn't have a grow room in my basement, would i have discovered my insect invaders coming into my house so quickly?! probably not! so thanks to mary jane, i've saved myself from months of having the creepy crawlys trying to figure out where the damn bugs are coming from! LoL - i just bought my house last fall, so this is my first summer dealing with invaders!
