I was using a probe type tester. I bought some PH strips and found out just how inaccurate the probe was. I then changed the soil from The cheapo mostly woodchip crap to a slightly better soil w/ guano chicken shit and guano in it mixed half and half with vermaculite. I adjusted the water PH and flushed untill the runoff had the proper reading.

Still waiting for the plants to recover from the shock but they seem to be responding well.
