Ducting Questions?

Ok, I've been looking at a few of the flexible ducting models on the market, some are insulated , some are not. I've heard that the insulated stuff helps keep things quiet. How much quieter will things be compared to regular ducting?

Also, my Veg cab calls for a 6" CanFan, but my Flower cab needs an 8" CanFan. I was wondering if it would be possible to purchase a single 25ft roll of the 8" insulated ducting, and use it for both the Veg and Flower cab. I don't need much ducting for my Veg cab, so I don't want to spend the money on stuff that will go to waste, but I want it to be silent.

What do you guys think? Could I get away with using just 8" insulated ducting, without using duct reducers? Would this cause any problems, or should I stick with the reducers?

Thanks in advance.
