Common misunderstanding of TiO2. They do not produce negative ions, when excited by the UV they cause a natural reaction - Photocatalytic Oxidation
Photocatalytic and antibacterial activity of TiO2 and Au/TiO2 nanosystems which breaks up the molecule, be it odor, bacteria, etc. My sister gave me the lights originally for my son with allergies. It sat in the box for a month because I was also under the impression it was a negative ion or ionic light. After research and calling the company I understood the product better. The additional "benefits" of being an odor killer was a plus.
