Dieing leaves means nutrients are getting sucked out of the leaf because it is not being taken up through the roots. Cutting off a leaf just means you stoped its "energy" supply, as well as made an open cut it will now have to heal.

Letting leaves fall off themselves usually means no nutrients are left, and there is usually no cut to heal. Cutting them off will simply make them do what they were doing to a new set of leaves until problem is solved.

No need to snip leaves. half dead or nearly dead.
