Hi Grow Bros:

No offense Ironlunga but I had to see for myself.

Here are the test results.

I'm not so sure about the light spectrum thing but I went to the lighting store this afternoon & put a lumen meter to the EVLs.
I keep my plant tops 2 1/2" from the lights so thats the distance we held the light meter. We also used the same reflector I have.
We took the light in the back room where there would be no other lights on.

Right beneath the center of the bulb the reading was 19,000 lumen. we also held the meter beneath the end of the bulb & at the front of the bulb.
At the end the lumens were 19,800 & at the front they were 17,000 lumen.
Conclusion: 1, Regardless of spectrum they still have lots of lumens.
2, Center your plants towards the end of the light not the middle for balanced lighting.
3, The main problem I can see with the EVL would be for the large grower. You have to keep them very close to the plants to get the high lumens. When you move them up to cover a larger grow you lose the lumens. So, a large grower would need alot of EVLs & therefor EVLs wouldn't be very cost effective.
