Your green airline will be just fine. Remember that plants (such as algae) can't use green light- they reflect it, which is why they look green. Therefore any light that makes it through the airline will be green, and ok.
As I said in another thread around here, I twist tie on some large washers or nuts onto my airlines. Seems to work just great.
