Hey, great setup Him. I also have an aeroponics setup and I get the same root browning that you do. I don't think increasing the amount of air time and decreasing the amount of watering time will help. You see, I used to have the watering cycle set to 5 minute air time and 1 1/2 minutes of watering time but the roots remained brown. I was told by fellow growers to keep the pump running all the time in order to increase water circulation thereby increasing aeration around the roots which I'm trying right now.
I'd have to agree with Knore. This kind of setup is best with multiple smaller plants. I am currently doing a journal that illustrates this. I have a 3000 watt aeroponics stadium setup using 180 plants (has room for 200 though). Check it out under Grow Journals: 3000 watt "Pipe Dreams" Setup.
