Hey there Stoned,
glad you enjoyed it. Your right, the more light the better up to 80klux, if you can keep the heat under control. The reason I chose the 250W HPS rather than something larger is that it complemented the spectrum of the 400W MH. Together they produce high efficiency for photosynthesis and growth but also balanced color for normal plant morphology. The next step up in size for both lamps would have been too much heat for the size of my box and after my maryjane grow I'm gonna try something else, maybe roses.

cali-canuck, glad to be of assistance
and good luck with your cab. I calculate a total of 7.5 Amp at 110Vrms. Here's what's on the labels: HPS 3.9A, MH 2.5A, fans 2@45W, pump 23W, and air pumps 2@4.5W. If you use the mylar blankets on all surfaces, then there's no real benefit to going square or short for that matter. What kind of hydro rig will you be setting up in there? 3X4 is plenty big enough for 2 plants and almost any hydro I can think of.

Blankets and fluoros are hung and the pots are in the tubs. I put a piece of plywood under the first (right) tub to get the water levels even.
