I always leave my ties on, as long as it dont cut into the plant it is fine. I use some 2 ga. solid electrical wire and make a loop on one end and tie a string to the other end. The loop is big enough to give the stem some room to grow, then when the stem fills the loop I move the tie farther up or make the loop bigger if the tie doesnt need moving. Kind of a "learn as you go" process. I wouldnt use days as guidlines. Just let the plants tell you when to retie. |
