well brother I can tell you why not use mirrors. Mirrors are made of melted silicons. they turn green when they go molten when they solidify (cool)
they remain tinted green...now you may think this great but remember that light you see is what part of white light that is reflected from the object so if you see green that that is what the plant will see..... now since a plant reflects green light i submit to you that green light is a waste of energy for a plant and so a plant cannot or will not use it
