See...with an hps as the wattage goes up, so does the lumens per watt. Where a 70w puts out about 89 lm per watt a 400 has about 112 and a 1000w is pushing 127 lm. So if they were in the same spectrum, which theyre not, the 65w fluorex would be a better choice. Since its putting out 127 lm opposed to the 70w hps' 89 lm. The fluorex is 6500 K ( blue ) which is XLNt for the vegging phase, but not so good for flowering, where we want a red spectrum.blah blah
