I looked at mister heads and it was appealling to consider them because there were pre-threaded fittings available - some people are using them, but others suggest they will get clogged.

I bought some microsprayers which are also threaded, designed to tap and thread into soft sprinkler system tubing which came in 100 ft. rolls. well, they wouldn't thread into the mister fittings (T's) that were available, so I am experimenting getting them threaded/tapped into pvc pipe.

a couple reasons I think I'll favor the microsprayers --
--although in theory everything should be totally dissolved in the nute soilution and go through the misters, just experimenting with tap water I'm getting a little rust/iron particles just from my one galvanized pipe connection ( from the 1/4" pump outlet to the 1/2" threaded pvc adapter) and these would definitely mess up misters for me
(maybe I could switch it to brass fitting but the iron should be ok?)

-- even though my microsprayer says 14 gph with a 6 foot radius for the high pressure sprinkler system, running a medium pond pump generates a lower pressure than the sprinkler and it is a gentle spray unlikely what comes out a sprinkler head.

as for homemade aeroponics in general,
once I get the net pots, and if I can thread the microsprayers in pvc (without glueing), I may have a homemade system with every bit of potential as a $300 unit,
and maybe more since my bigger reservoir should lead to less pH flunctuations/better pH stability for the girls.
