I remember when I first got mine...I think they can come with a sensor. Maybe somehow you got one with & one w/o the sensor. If it does have it, just put a piece elec. tape over it. If not..try rewiring it.If that doesnt wwork..heed hempgirls advice $.02

All you had to do was cut an appropriate rectangle in the top and set it up there.Raising the plants to the light..lowering as needed. That way your whole interior could be devoted to grow space. the only possibility of burn being from above. Or isnt that slealthy enough?
