Hey plainsman1963,
While I have been scanning the net for compact fluoro's I came across an article about PAR ratings and compact fluoro's. Now having said that

, I was

and only read the dam thing. Searched but cannot find it again (will find it if it kills me). It did not give the ratings but talked about the variations and inacurate data for PAR inregards to compact fluorescents. Saying that though the article went on in great detail about CRI index ratings and Kelvin temps and how they have an edge on HID and HPS (for those who read this and say hahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha right, I am not saying compacts are better but can do the job just fine if the set up is made to use the compacts
properly). Well I agree with you on the 42watt bulbs (because I am using them lol, along with larger 125watt compact). I will try to find the article again and post it in here.
Hey cecil_b,
I agree with you about researching the lights, especially with these fluoro's. Just looking at the compiled list so far, I have to say even though it says 23watts, does not make it the right 23watts. Same companies make 3-4 variations of the same 23watt bulb and that is absolutely great for the gardener if we read about the plants requirements of Kelvin temp and so on.
I have to say that I have learned more about compact fluorescents then I ever would have imagined. Great lights if all the details are looked at before just picking up the bulb and slapping it in the room. Hmmm now that you mention the ratings I am trying to figure how to edit this and do a type of rating system.
Anyway I will attempt to add more info as I go along.
