Aero's better if you can afford it. Faster growth rate. You do have to pay attention to yer garden though and watch for clogged misters, leaks, pissy timers, etc...
"Regular" Hydro: drip, flood/drain, NTF, DWC, um... I think that's it... These are all great learning experiences and require varying levels of knowledge, expertise, and cash flow.

I use regular sprayers in an aero-like setup. 30-90 cycle with the lights on cause the nutrients aren't atomized like with misters ( which would be on with the lights 12 hours). This was economically feasable for me cause I couldn't afford a true blue aero which needs a great pump that's usually difficult to find. Pond style paddle pumps can't create enough pressure for misters no matter how high the GPH rating is!
