Try cutting a small piece of leaf from the bud to check your trichomes, jasper. The Radio Shack microscope is nearly imposible to focus while looking at buds on the bush. A little snippet of a few sweet leaves will be much easier to view.
I prefer harvesting my buds when they are at the stage you describe. A few clear and the rest mostly cloudy will continue to ripen after harvest into the few amber that you desire. Personal preference on this point entirely. You will not be disappointed in your harvest whenever you decide to cut. Another week and you will surely begin to see amber.
