Lightbulb A Mass Cloner for under $10 Bucks

Hello all

After one year of unsuccessful cloning I've found a way that will clone 99.9% of the time for anybody..... use for one cutting or 25 cuttings

I belieave in the K.I.S.S method of gardening...so with that in mind.........{ Keep It Simple Stupid }

Parts list:
......3 dishpans.....dollar store...total cost $3
......2 package's of Tiki Wicks......cost $4
......enough perilite to 3/4 fill top dishpan......cost less than $3

and thats it for parts......

the bottom pan becomes your resivior......I use plain tapwater......the chlorine helps to keep out the algee....

the middle pan is a spacer to create a space between the top and bottom pan...... click on image's for larger view I used a razor blade cutter.....cut about 1 to 2 inch's off the top.....top part becomes the spacer...... save the bottom tub part for a cover if needed.......

Top pan holds the wicks and perilite.....

Drill the 8 holes for the wicks:

cut the wicks in half and insert half way though the holes......wicks just touching the bottom of the bottom pan

Now fill top pan with perilite to the top of the wicks......thats it your done.

START UP:
fill your resivior [bottom pan] with 1 to 2 inches of water......
let it sit for 24 to 48 hours.......wicks will be drawing the water up to the perilite and spreading the moisture thoughout the perilite.......

check it out stick your finger into the perilite nice even moisture thoughout

OK now refill your res........place your cuttings into the perilite.......pan will hold 1 to 25 good size cuttings....
roots form in 7 to 14 days.....
9 days is what I am averaging......
check and refill your res every 5 to 7 days......
after 7 to 9 days give your cutting a very gentle tug.....
any resistance usally = new roots....
long cuting's tend to stick to the bottom......
just use a BBQ skew or any long slender tool and gently pry up.....they come right up.....no problems and no damage to the new roots......

then wash off the extra perilite in a cup of room temp water......
and plant

I've been getting good roots so that I can go right to soil or stick in the net pot and surround with my lava rocks......eliminates the need for rockwool or rapid rooter plugs

if you need to know more about how to take your cuttings click here for your cloning guide for dummies

AND REMEMBER K.I.S.S
