ScrOG is the "Screen Of Green" method. The purpose of ScrOG is to maximize your usage of the available space and lighting by training the new growth of a plant into a screen or mesh.
ScrOG can be done in soil or soil-less/hydro.
Below is a picture of a ScrOG cabinet grow. The screen is 20" x 30" and is placed 16" above the resevoir. As a general rule, you should leave at least three times the space above the screen as there is below. I only left 36" above the screen and one of the plants grew into the glass. As you learn more about the strain you're growing, you can adjust the level of the screen or light accordingly.
Notice how the plants have filled up all of the available space; and that the light does not penetrate all the way through the canopy of plant material. This picture is almost an x-ray of light usage.

My CoG Garden - Room within a room The reason "home-grown" is no longer synonymous with "schwag" is because of the control indoor growers have over the plant environment. Over the last few decades, we have learned what the near-ideal environment is for MJ cultivation. To paraphrase a genious, "We stand on the shoulders of giants". |
