Has anyone tried a Mister/Fogger head in an AeroSpring-like setup? Several companies sell mister heads that require ~1GPH and produce a fog vice a spray. These misters are often used for cooling.

I bought some microsprayers which are also threaded, designed to tap and thread into soft sprinkler system tubing which came in 100 ft. rolls. well, they wouldn't thread into the mister fittings (T's) that were available, so I am experimenting getting them threaded/tapped into pvc pipe. a couple reasons I think I'll favor the microsprayers -- --although in theory everything should be totally dissolved in the nute soilution and go through the misters, just experimenting with tap water I'm getting a little rust/iron particles just from my one galvanized pipe connection ( from the 1/4" pump outlet to the 1/2" threaded pvc adapter) and these would definitely mess up misters for me (maybe I could switch it to brass fitting but the iron should be ok?) -- even though my microsprayer says 14 gph with a 6 foot radius for the high pressure sprinkler system, running a medium pond pump generates a lower pressure than the sprinkler and it is a gentle spray unlikely what comes out a sprinkler head. as for homemade aeroponics in general, once I get the net pots, and if I can thread the microsprayers in pvc (without glueing), I may have a homemade system with every bit of potential as a $300 unit, and maybe more since my bigger reservoir should lead to less pH flunctuations/better pH stability for the girls.

![]() ![]() ![]() | imo, the fogging nozzles are difficult to use with a standard aquarium water pump. they don't supply the required pressure to effectively produce the fine mist that they are associated with, but more of a dribble stream. i tried those cooling kits, i used a rio 2100 pump which is quite stout and still new and sorry, nada, noway, it does not work, noway nohow. and they clog very easily too. i've seen other types of nozzles that would work, listed for use in chicken coops, they have a larger port and operate well with low pressure pumps. gotta buy like 50 of them to get a price break, kinda pricy for such a small peice of plastic. otherwise, your only other option is top get a more powerfull pump, maybe a roots or piston style pump, but no aquarium pump has yet to do the job right. but, nozzles from lowes and hd garden dept, work very well with aquarium pumps, and produce a good spray pattern. -=00=-

![]() | Just my .02 I been using the Heli sprayers for a while, I had a few clogs in the begining but I switched to a bigger sprayer and havent had a problem since. I run 6 sprayers off of one pump with no drop in pressure. Aerobuds ![]()

![]() | Here's the URL for the company that makes them. They wont sell them to you direct, But they do have a list of distributors on thier page. Just find one near you. The spinners are about half way down the page. It says 360 degree aeroponic spinner. http://www.americanagritech.com/accessories.html#misc Aerobuds ![]()
