Thanks Doc.
I just need to prune the clones before there get too tall.

Hey scrub...
I haven't checked the stalks closely yet but I will tonight. I don't have a lot of grow rocks, just enough to hold the rock wool in place and underneath to hold it up. I'll check to see just how wet it is getting.

After having removed some of the top grow rocks, I do not see any stalk damage from too much contact with the water. So I don't think that is a concern.

The AC unit is doing a good job of keeping the air temp down.

PPM still around 900

PH 6.0 dropped down to 5.5

Water temp 63f

The plants are looking good. Root mas is looking clean, white and healthy. Buds are starting to grow.

I'll try to have pics soon.

keeping the res temps down has had a great impact on my grow. are you noticing the same? my air temps are still in the 80's while i keep the res under from going above the low 70's.

the only time i notice trunk rot is with lack of airflow or an abundance of moister above the medium (rockwool or grow rocks), wich i actually had on two of my plants in the aero-cloner

Hey Doc,
Did you get a chiller, or are you still using frozen bottles? I wish I could afford a chiller but the bottles have always worked, so I keep using them.

Day F37
permalink

Something strange has happened in my grow room. In only a few days all the water in the bubble cloner has evaporated or been used by the plants, but whatever has happened the water is gone and all clones are dead

A minor set back. I will germ some seeds and start over with the cloned/veg bubblier.

Here are the latest pics of the plants.

I'm sorry that you lost your clones.

Choice 1, the clones took up all the water; wanted more and could not get it; then died? Wow.

Choice 2, the reservoir is small and the temperatures were so great all the water evaporated in a few days.

I vote for Choice 3, which is 1 + 2.

How many days would you say--now that this has happened--would be the maximum you could leave your Aero Cloner un-attended in your environment?

Nice plants by the way. Bushy and green.

sorry about the set back... it can be frustrating at times when things dont go right.

i do notice that my bubble cloner goes threw a lot of water too...

i have not gotten a chiller yet... i need to upgrade my electric before i can make any other upgrades in the room...

but adding the reflective insulation helps a lot! before the insulation i had to change the bottles 4 times a day to keep temps in the high range (75)...
i now can get away with one change a day, but sometimes do two just to keep it on the low end (62-65).

seems to me they are loving the warm air and cool res

im also keeping my ppms much lower then i did before btw 500-800
instead of 1000-1200

Well I'm kinda bummed out about the clone situation. It's my fault for not watching them close enough. I think maybe a combo of 1&2 scrub. I was just a little too lazy. The air temps are not high at all.

I have found in the past PPM around 1200 will suffice for flowering plants, but it might depend on the strain. I once had PPM about 2000 with good results, but I have had just as good results keeping it around 1200.

The plants are still looking good. I added three gallons of balanced RO water.

My Ph might be a little low...I have some leaf curl. My pin might not be reliable, if I move it around while I'm checking, the Ph will drop on the pin. I might try going with experience on the Ph from now on. Leaves turn yellow, Ph too high. Leaves curl down, Ph too low. ETC.

I raised the PPM to 1100.

Keeping the water temp below 65F.

After five weeks in the aerospring the plants are all only about 20" tall with no training being done, and under 800 watts. I would expect the plants to be about three to four feet tall by now. I'm still wondering if I have nutes which are too old.

Any input? The nutes are GH flora series and are four years old.

I am afraid that I don't have any thoughts on the possible slow growth of your plants. You seem to be watching things very well.

In several months I added nutrients only twice to my Vegetation cabinet reservoir. Mostly, I added water. The plants were under CFLs. They were very slow off the mark as seedlings but seemed pick up pace as time went by.

All of my seeds are at least two to three years old. As such, they seem to be losing initial germination vitality.

My GH nutrients very in age from about one to six months.
