![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks Doc, Things are more what I would call normal in my grow room. The plants are growing and roots are developing. I have today's updates. I don't have all this posting down yet...I cant write between the pics, so I'll talk about each plant in a different post. The garden so far. I raised the lights today thinking the problem I'm having might be heat stress from the lights. I also added thirty five Ml. of AquaShield as preventative. The water temp was up to 76f so I add some bottles, and when they had melted I added some more. I'm still waiting for them to melt before I take another reading. But I will pull the temp down within acceptable limits. PPM is dropping slowly, now 440, down from 500... Ph is still 5.8, if my pin is working. I calibrated it, but I never quite trust those things. I think the plants say the Ph is a little low, but I don't have any Ph up. The plants are starting to compete for room and light as the canopy fills in.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks v, I'm doin my best. Or as my day would say I'm doing the best I can with the tools I have. This plant is only six inches tall but it has one of the thickest stalks and the best looking foliage of them all. The tallest plants are eleven inches tall. So I don't know if this one will be able to survive the stretch with out being shaded out., but if she is a female I might give her a go.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | here are some other stalks. They seem to be getting ready to support some big buds....I hope. Also included are the two smallest plants, only six inches tall with small stalks. I'm almost positive they won't make it into flowering, but if they are female I might place them back in the veg/cloner and take some clones from then....we will see.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You know that once those plants start filling out and getting bigger the foliage should cover the tote up nicely. It might bring down those res temps too. The way those look it wont be too long. I started some seeds on the 15th so tomorrow I think they might be going into the cabinet. I dont know if they are females but they grew pretty quick, 5th set of leaves starting. I kinda hate growing from seed but I need some new variety.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes, in the past when the plants shade the top of the tote, the res temp is much easier to control. I think I heard Doc say he changed his bottles when the lights go on and off. I change mine more often than that. Factor in also he is running lights out some of the time while mine are still on 24/7... If the day time temps go back up I will cut the lights back during the heat of the day. My 400w HPS bulb went Kaput today, I had a spare bulb up on the catch all shelf, so no damage done. I usually go lights out when the plants are ten inches tall. I now have plants from six inches to eleven inches tall. They look like two different strains, maybe that's why the difference in height. Other plants vary in size from seven to ten inches. What to do???? I think I will let the two tall plants grow to twelve inches and see where the others are at that time. Which will probably be tomorrow. If most of the other plants are close to ten inches tall, I will turn out the lights. If they are not.........I might top the tallest branches on the two tallest plants in order to slow them down so the others can catch up.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | them i would cut your lights back from 24/0 to at least 20/4 if not 18/6... HID bulbs can be run no stop but they have a much better life expectancy if they get to rest daily not to mention that it would help the res temps... you have a 400 MH and HPS side by side still? maybe run them each for an opposite 12 hours so you can have lights on all day, reduce your temps and cut your electricity bill. just a thought... although you are doing great this time around and i dont want to be the one giving advise to screw all that up ![]()

I'm starting to lean toward the more vegetation time the better. That means to me to veg as long as you can. You can always prune the smallest branches. What is left would be the strongest and they will be stronger for the longer veg time. I see that you already have them arranged by size. Another arrangement is Taller to Smaller and move the lights to favor the smaller. I too believe the roots look fabulous.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thank scrub, things are starting to look like they are supposed to. It only took me about eight months to pull my head out of my ass and start paying attention to what's going on. Let me tell you what a plexiotomy is: A plexiotomy is where they install a piece of Plexiglas in you abdomen because you have your head so far up your ass, you can't see where you're going. Today's readings; The plants grew one inch in the last day. I now have two plants which are twelve inches tall. Several others are ten inches tall. The two smallest ones just aren't going to make it. I will place them back in the veg/cloner. Last night the PPM was down to 440. I added some flora bloom which brought the PPM up to 480. Tonight the PPM is down to 450. The water level has dropped about 20%, that's about 1.5 gal....So the plants are drinking mass quantities and consuming the nutes faster than the water. I think that's a good thing. The leaf damage seems to be confined to the old leaves, which were damaged before I raised the lights. The new growth is a deep green and very healthy looking. The stalks shock me each new day I look at them. Ph is still 5.8? Water temp was back up yo 76f, added frozen bottles. I only added two because I ]'m thinking about flushing and going to bloom formula. I will let this crop veg for one more day. This way I can go lights out on the first of the month and it will be super easy to track time. Plus If I let the plants get any taller they will be....well I don't know what they will be but I've had 4.5' plants come from ten inch sprouts. If the aerospring is 2' and the plants are 4' and your room is 8' high that leaves 2' for your lights. My room is slightly higher than that, maybe 9'-10', it is on a slope. So stretch all you want....bring on those two foot colas and bigger around than a two liter pop bottle. It's about to be ON!
