guys i gotta tell ya, i did the system epicerus said and im amazed, to test it i took my 20 gallon tank with a 10-30 gallon air pump, hooked up two cascade bubblers at the bottom of the tank, filled it with water, put some nutrients in the water and hung the garlic cloves right above the water, within 5-6 days i have had one garlic clove rise 7inches tall! Thats more than an inch a day, i looked this morning there was one sprout 6 inches tall, at 4pm when i got home there was another that was 1 inch taller!
Try this you WILL NOT be disapointed! *dont sue over that ^* lol

later guys

one thing to note, when you first plant garlic, it grows like mad, I've even seen them have foot long shoots in 3 days...but thanks for sayin' good things about the system, hope yours works as well for you as mine does for me...*toke*toke* hmm, did that sound right?

Harvest soon.
Cuttings will be taken soon after a bit of revegatative. I am going to go with this system. My only question is where to start with the nutrient solution. What exactly are you putting in besides water?
okay, 2 questions:
Is it dark where the roots are?

ya i just used normal fert solution at about 10-10-15 and use the ones that feed over time about 3 months, as the system goes keep adding new water about every 3 days to keep it clean and leave minerals in the water. The roots will alway be partially lit in the 24 hour cycles when the light above shines down on them. But when it comes time for the 12/12 cycle they will have dark time and the roots will sprout very fast when lights are returned. Well hope that helps later.

Is it a hydroponic solution or just one of the normal water soluble ferts? I'm just asking because I want to know if I can mix up my "dirt" ferts in water and be ready to go. Thanks again,
Guyute

use hydro ferts, or if you must, any water soluable fert should work (same as w/ hydro, it'll work, just not always the greatest)...and no, the roots don't have to be in the dark, but it wouldn't hurt 'em...some people say that roots will start sprouting leaves and **** if they're not in the dark, but I've never seen it happen.
