![]() | Oooh.... lava rocks... I hear that stuff does wonders for ones Ph level. doob PS - I am also making a "level tube" for my setup. I have a half inch elbow tube, half inch rubber grommet, and a foot of opaque blue tubing. I'm going to attach it to the side of the bucket and mark it to tell me how much nutrient I should have in the bucket. Then, when I refill it, I'll just top feed it right through the grow rocks to fill up the bucket with nutes... | ||

| Well, I'm doin' it right now (like doob, I,m using tomatoes) but still this concept seems foolproof so far!! For lack of $$$ I'm using vermiculite and perlite for a medium. There setting in a plastic strainer with really small holes. The tub was purchased at the dollar store,(dark purple in color,no need for the black tape)3 bucks and holds 4 gal. 2 airstones and 150w hps and these tomatoes are going ape sh*t!! Almost twice as big as the ones I planted in dirt at the same time. Never could get the ph quite right, a little on the acid side, but the matoes don't seem to mind, suggest taking more time to correct ph for the real deal though!! peace ![]() | ||

| This systems seems fool proof so far! I failed tremendously at hydroponics 101, but so far so good. The maters in the tub are so much more healthy and bushy than the ones in soil. I thought by now they would have keeled over from root rot , but there showing no sign of slowing down!! I keep you up to date.....peace FT | ||

|
quote:
Originally posted by FlynHammer: I also constructed one of the bubblers with some major changes, I connected two buckets together at the bottom. gave one of them a fill tube at the top on the side so I didnt have to remove the lid to fill I have two air pumps one for each bucket. Also I have a water pump that is taking water from the bucket on the right and it is running the water to the top of the buckets and running into the lavs rocks like self watering. I am planing on running the two air pumps 24/7 the water pump is on a timer plugged into the light timer so it is only running when the lights are on but their timer will give them a break so if i am on a 18/6 light system when the lights come on the pump will waight an hour, be on for 4 hours off for 2 on for 4 off. I think you get it it dont need water running 24/7 just the air I think it is a must!! as far as nutes i ordered the General hydroponics flora grow series from Growking. rooting liqued I dont know but I would like to. change the water completely monthly other thatn that maybe add once a week. yes flowering will be AWESOME in it [This message has been edited by FlynHammer (edited July 23, 2000).]

| ||
