Sorry if this is a really stupid newbie question, this guy I know just bought a nice aquamist 2. His green is about two weeks old and its time to switch out water and clean this bad boy. He is afraid of damaging the nice pretty roots that have developed and are just hanging from the pots getting misted by said machine. There is a removable top but he don't know what to do with it while he is cleaning out the bottom. Is it okay to set the top with all the basckets on a towel or something in the room or what...??? the last thing he wants to do is ruin these things or throw them in shock.... Thanks a whole lot in advance.

milleniumbud is beginning to sprout.

1. Tilt and Pour out. Make sure to hold pots in to unit.
If he's using grorocks this could be a challenge.

2. I got a squeezable hand pump at the dollar store. Insert such a pump between one pot and top deck cover. Pump out.

what I generally do is take off the top and set it on/in another container so that the roots can hang freely, then I scrub the tank down and re-do my solution, put 'em back on and I'm good to go...haven't killed one yet (that way, at least)
