MinorCrimes is beginning to sprout.

Hi, I just wanted to give a discription of a system i plant to build, and would like advice on it. I plan to make a system a more of a Deep water NFT sytem then AREO. I figured if the idea is big plants big roots right.... Go with large PVC.I figure 5-5foot long 12inch dia. pipes would do very good;but, would the high volume of water damage roots? I would use 3 inch baskets w/m grow rocks and 1*1 starter cubes. The baskets would be 6 inches from the edge and a foot from eachother.there would be 2-5 foot 36 inch dia rez. On on the top and one on the bottem. (incase of power loss or just so i can increase of decrease flow easlily) In each of these rez. i would have 2 24 inch airstones for airation. The water would also drain out of the system falling about a foot causing water displacement for extra airation. There would be a valve for each section on the top and on the bottem so 10 valves. All tubing would be 2 inch, I don't see the need for it to be any bigger. The only forseeable problem that i might have would be the 3 inch baskets being too high creating a need for an extremely deep flow of water Ruffly 8 inches. should i increase basket size?? Any idea's? Also If i build 2 of these systems a veg one and a flowering one. would i be able to move plants from one to the other or will the root ball be to big?? THX Minor Crimes
