Orchids are epiphytic... they take their nutrition in via their specially adapted leaves, not by roots. MJ is not epiphytic. Most orchid species use the roots only for attaching themselves to trees, baskets... whatever they are mounted on. MJ feeds primarily through the roots. Orchids require quite a bit of humidity also, enough to cause bud rot in MJ. The two plants are so different... I think trying to grow mj this way would be more trouble than it's worth, and not very productive at all. | ||
