Maximus is beginning to sprout.

right now i have roughly 40 plants growing behind my house wich is somewhat of a pain but i suppose it will be worth it in the end the only thing i'm concerned about is the quality of the bud.
so i was reading about these aeroponic units and kits.
i was impressed with the statistics but astounded by the prices. i have several questions though.
based on this product http://www.growking.com/atlas.htm

1. how big can i grow my plants
2. how often might i be able to harvest
3. is it complicated to setup and operate the system
4. is this a good price

thanks for any advice

Thumbs up

that system would be great for scroggin! just have to build a screen holder above it and your set sweet! figure 4 plants, 4 main colas per plant, totaling 16, and anywhere from 1/4oz to 1/2oz per bud.. equals ... a whole lotta weed!
but you could just build it for 1/2 price, and get the same out of it! you would most likely flower them when they are 10" and have a 2'~ 2.5' plant when finished, harvesting 3 times a year from seeds, 4~6 times a year from cloning. simple system, mix nutes and pour (make sure its plugged in to!). but it is a complete package, and saves time from shopping at lowes.....
peace...

Hello Maximus,

lab rat x has given you some good advice, I just have acouple of things to contribute here,

You can grow a plant to 8 foot high in an eeroponics unit, thats the beauty of DWC and the ike, there is no problems with the roots becoming rootbound provided you have sufficient container as the nutes are always present to the roots.

Ideally though you will want to keep them manageable, depending on how much light you have in the room this will dictate your ideal height for maximum canopy penetration.
I use the guide that a 400watt lamp over a 3x 3 foot area will penetrate around 5 inches, a 600 watt will penetrate around 6.5 inches and so on. Lesser wattages will obviously offer lesser penetration meaning that the more watts the biger you can grow them and still harvest viable, resinous buds.

As lab rat has mentioed, you can build your own system fairly cheaply and easily, its a great educational exercize as you glean the workings of the system first hand, and any bugs that come with it. Home depot is a god source for supplies also.

Aerobuds is beginning to sprout.

Maximus, I have a similar unit from the same company. I can tell you from experience the unit works's great. During veg my plants grow about 1.5 - 2" a day. Thats no lie. It's also easy to take care of. But if you are even somewhat handy you could easily build one. There is tons of info on how to build one right on this site. Just use the search.

Gday maximus, You might like to look at the aeroponic box i built here
http://www.hempcultivation.com/420/s...?threadid=8070
Its quite cheap to make, is as good as buying some setup from a shop except you save a load of cash. and the best part is that it works like a dream.
