aaaaah, true aeroponics..... topline stuff, heard it was expensive. i know of only one unit so far that fogs using ultasonics. it produces micron size mist. this is the unit that you score MAXIMUM growth rate. if you find more about it, let us know!

yo lab_rat_x they are top line stuff and they cost a lot of $$$$ here in Oz, Ive had a play with a cheap model for my cloning and man they really kicked, I was getting root fractals in 4 days, truly explosive.

I did have a few problems with the Ph when I used a nutrient solution for a flower I did, it keps oscillating wildly, I suspect the ultrasonic diffusion interfered with the chelates or the ferrous materials within solution...Im not 100% sure though.

interesting stuff at any rate and very 'tech'

killer! Oz! i see only small stuff grown with it, have you tried a full size plant? and also, i have always wonder how much that shiva fd620 goes for? or that fog cloning chamber? i bought this misting system for houses, its suppose to produce a fine mist, but you need solid pressure to operate them, and aquarium pumps don't do that.
hey !t, have you checked out the sharper image catalog. the have similiar setup for $80.

Would a Nebulizer (medical breathing atomizer) create the same results? I am thinking of using it for my cloning. Only jproblem is how do I set it up to fog the roots?? hrmmm.. I must be sober to not have any great creativity here.

Gudday lab_rat_x,
I picked my ultrasonic up from an aquarium supply warehouse, they soldpumps and all kinds of stuff like that, they had 3 or 4 models of these things so I bought a few of the bigger ones to try them out.

I made a small unit a couple of years ago and grew 4 plants in it, they did reasonably well in the growth stage but the ph was wild wth them, then in the flowering stage I had problems with the Potassium ratios going skewed on me, the P was fine but the damm K went out so we had deficiencies, I reckon it may have been due to the vibration but Im only really guessing thee, its basically a Piezo element from what I understand, just a vibrating plate a few microns thick.
