So far I think it is an amazing plant. It is mostly sativa, yet it is medium in height and has somewhat compact buds. If the aroma, taste, and buzz is as good as the plant looks then I should be in for a treat.

Yesterday I noticed that the male had began releasing his pollen. I grabbed a branch right above the female and shook it and watched pollen just rain down on her. It was better than porn.

Anyways, I got a couple of photos this morning for your viewing pleasure.

Here is a close up of the male.



And here is a closer shot of the female. If you look carefully you will see several male flowers laying on the leaves of the female.

It is now clearly evident that the female is good and pollenated. I collected a nice amount of pollen from the male and then chopped him up and threw him away. Tomorrow I will mist the female with water and then reintroduce her into the flowering room. I need that closet space back so I can harvest a K2 bush.

Here is a couple of close up shots of the female. The pistils have begun to change colors so I'd say I should end up with more seeds than I will need.

A piece of computer paper and some scotch tape. I know it is pretty high tech but I am sure there are better ways.

What I did was fold a piece of printer paper a couple of times to form a pocket and I taped it in place. Then I shook the branches of the male above the paper pocket and removed the flowers as they fell in along with the pollen. Once I had a sufficient amount I just folded the paper up a few more times and taped it closed. Marked it with the date and strain, stuck it in a plastic ziplock bag and put it in the freezer.

oh i'm glad i asked, havent tried that method before, sounds good. how's the thawing out when taken out of the freezer work? can it be refrozen and still be viable then? i suppose it could but i've never tried.

I am no expert and this is probably the most ghetto way of doing it, but it seems to work. Usually when I take it out of the freezer I just open it up and use it. It's a powder so it's not frozen solid. Not sure how long it stays good either. I have used it with great success after about 1 month, but the last bit I used was Sweet Apollo from about 5 or 6 months ago and it didn't seem to work as well. I covered the female and still only see a seed or two. So I would not recommend using this method if you need to keep the pollen for any length of time. I find the best way to pollenate is to stick the female in a closet with the male and let nature take it's course.

i thought it might stick together some when frozen like a chunk of hash or something, cool it stays powdery. the way i've done it in film containers at room temp i've had it last less than 3 weeks up to more than a year, so it varies a great deal for me for some reason. i dont know if there is a best way just like hearing how others do it.

I am beginning to wonder if it is possible to overpollenate a plant.. This female Sage is beginning to look as though she is dieing.
