![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Im going to post a few pictures of plants here that are ready to accept male pollen, this may help some of the newer users to identify a good time to pollenate. First Up a JC x c99GF which is at 3.5 weeks into flowering, this plant has been tipped at the 2nd and 5th nodes and has plenty of floral bracts in which to pollenate.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There is a little resin on these ladies, too much often prevents good pollenation I have found, I like to get in early and pollenate heavily, optionally you can just paint the pollen onto selcted buds with a paintbrush.

Hey Oz, This is going to be a great thread. I always use a paint brush to paint individual buds. it works great. Yeah it takes 5-6 weeks for seeds to mature so 3 weeks is dead on.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | it just means the seeds will be done sooner. the entire plant isnt pollinated... just the pistils that pollen has fallen on. If you pollinate when you've got a few preflowers pokin out, those will grow seeds, but flowers grown after that point will not be pollinated, unless theres still some pollen left around to do it.

so does that mean u would have a better chance of only pollenating what u want than ending up with a full plant growing seeds if i pollenate early?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | yup.. if you pollinate early, about a week or 2 after first sign of pistils, only the pistils you see right then will grow seeds. any pistils that grow after that point will not be pollinated. So, if you know how many seeds you want, you could just wait until the plant has "x" amount of pistils by estimation, and then pollinate. Usually tho, if i am using a plant for seed, I pollinate several times throughout the flowering stage. if i use a female for seed, it goes all to seed. I dont plan on smoking any of it. maybe make hash from the remnants
