![]() ![]() ![]() | Second generation seeds are not as uniform in their results as first generation seeds... you will get a few larger, a few smaller, etc. Many genes not expressed in F1's will appear in F2's. This is not necessarily a bad thing- it is just that the crop will not be as uniform in it's growth habits, nute requirements, potency, etc. It's how lots of us keep a variety alive without having to maintain a mother year round.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Most of us in the USA are simply not in the position to carry out a breeding program that might require 1000+ plants going. If making seeds is your only goal, get the White Widow and play with it.... you can learn while you grow. I never said they'd be bad seeds- just not uniform. Crossing two unrelated strains doesn't do anything special aside from the first generation hybrid vigor- the second (F2) generation will be even more non uniform than F2 White Widows. If you are truly interested in "real" breeding start with this primer on Mendelian Genetics. This thread has several other links to essential reading. Then grab a copy of Robert C. Clarke's Marijuana Botany.... the first few chapters are linked in my sig, but buy the book and read it all.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | White Widow is the hardest of all strains to reproduce authentically, even with a breeding pair it can be a pain, the original white widow does have hermaphrodite issues inherently locked into the genes. Across all populations of widows I have seen there is this tendency, be it from shantibaber or even Dutch Passion. The strain dos not like the cold, period. Those Bros Grimm did a good job with the DP version of Widow though in regards to stability ... ![]()
