My current strain was started by one lucky bean in a tasty bag.- now I know the grower, and know that he uses all female clones, hasn't started any from seed in years. so I come to the conclusion that he must have had a female that had one or two balls on it, and I got the lucky bag(It's a great strain that he would never share) my question is, since this plant, although female, came from a hermie, will it be more prone to cloning hermies in the future?

You may be able to keep them from expressing that hermie trait by preventing all stress, but the genetics will always be in there.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Is it worth it to plant that seed if you know the history? Here's the scenario: The most suitable pheno I have (so far) for my cabinet is dying of old age. She's almost two years old from seed(several cuttings down the line now) and will not stop flowering...regardless of what I do(or what I don't do) to her. In my most recent harvest I found a solitary seed. My flower cab has never seen pollen before...and cross contamination is impossible(barring act-of-god type wind currents)...we have no males going So is it a gift from the Ganja Gods? A way for me to get a little longer with my most vigorous pheno? Or a throw away? C.C.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Most definatley it will be problematic based on the original material from whcih it was obtained, a plant that was in a situation of twilight near the end of its life. Hormone concentrations in that lady would be massivly elevated and will produce hermaphrodite offspring or even offspring that are prone to be unstable. The physical characteristics of the seed can only be determined by germinating it in regards to if it will be like the mother it came from, it will depend on the pollen source.

the mother plant flowered great, no seeds, no balls visible. the first batch of clones is almost done, and I looked them over with a magnifying glass- not a single ball seen any of the buds- maybe I got lucky and got a plant that won't express it's hermie roots.-
