![]() | G'day guys Just finished cropping my new Northern Lights/x. This is a strain from a mate that came from clones. Well "blow me off and call me dusty" if I didn't find a mature seed at the base of one of the smaller branches. Is this normal? The nearest male I have is like five acres away, and is still in grow. So how did this happen? The seed is white, and hard, and looks like any other MJ seed. I will try and germinate tonight, but thought this might have happened to somebody else. There were no other seeds either in the bud or in the sacs near the base of the axial branches, although they were swollen, just like the one with the seed in it. Keepin' green GazD

![]() | i dont know to be honest, however the male plants main tool for polinating the females is the power of the wind, if you have had some strong, (or maybe not even that strong) winds recently and there is an almost direct path across the to females, for example being on open land, I wouldnt see why the pollen couldn't travel that far. This is the way in which all pollen travels, using the wind ![]() | ||

![]() | Thanks Weedmonster, but like I said the nearest male plant is at the other end of a 5 acre block, and is in veg. In fact tinking about it, the male plant was probably about 2 inches high when the girls started flowering. I checked for hermies, but there were NONE. No-one else apart from the missus comes near the grow room, and we haven't been anywhere near male plants. The point I guess, is the seed gong to germinate or could it be sterile. Cheers GazD

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have seen females self pollenate and produce maybe 1 or 2 seeds which I have grown and they have been like the original mother plant. Other times I have had it occur as the result of stray pollen as the resulting germinated plant has been little like the original....

![]() | Thanks for that Oz. I hope it's a self-pollenator, WHOA there I go!!! I hope the seed germinates and is a self pollenator. (No good to put the plant before the seed) Don't you just love Mother Nature! I guess it's just another way of keeping the species going. Bit like cloning oneself. If it's a self pollenator and is just like mother, I'll call her "Dolly". (Hope her buds are as wooly) ![]()

![]() | G'day Stoned Dog. Thanks for dropping by. You know the last thing a parent of any girl wants to hear is that the neighbours boys are blowin' round . But thanks for the warning!Does anyone know how small pollen is? I have a s/steel charcoal filter connected to both the intake and exaust. Distribution of fresh air is via a couple of oscillating fans. The charcoal filter has a primary dust bag on the inside to filter large particles. Would it be possible to get pollen to infiltrate through these? Must admit, I only change one of the filters every year. Alternate filters for efficency. Thing is I never had any probs. Let sleeping dogs lie..... etc (no pun intended Stoned Dog) . Smell is never a prob due to ozonator, although the last haze/x had me retiming the ozonator almost on a daily basis Keepin Green GazD

![]() | No, visit to male and when I did the male was still in grow, no pre flowers or anything. And good news!! Seed has sprouted. Can't wait to see what happens now.If "Dolly" is female, I'll probably try and make her a mum for some breeding experiments Only time will tell. Keepin' Green Gazd
