![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thank God they've downsized those pumps in the Ez-cloner,I had a 120 site unit and it had the same size pump as in your Ecolizer.I found it heated the solution up too much, however I only tried it once in summer and it was in a top floor flat,so it was very warm to start with. I gave it too my mate after I lost the lot and he had really good results but he used it in winter.Problem was;because they didn't have any rockwool around the stem they really struggled with the low initial humidity and there was far more transpiration burn noticeable than with conventionally rooted cutting in some form of media. Personally I use a starlite 4 to root my cuttings under.400's can be a little aggressive if your not proficient. All the best, dev ![]()

![]() | clone in hydro dirt sucks. I get 100% of my clones to root in a $15 dollar system i built. I just keep the water warm and the chamber humid and vented. I keep the floros on 24/0. hydro is the only way to gro

We could run it as a sweep stake and the winner gets all the left over Perlite and Vermiculite I'm gonna be left with! Quote:
![]() Perhaps there was something wrong with my old pump, so I'll try this one, but if not and this one is just as noisy I'll swap it out for a Newjet, the same as in the NFT. Quote:
I glad that many of you are having great results from cloning in soil, good on ya'. Daltron's "Chicken in a Bucket" is marinading well, I'll post pics tomorrow of how I put it together... The other methods I'm trying don't need any pre-prep except the Rockwool, which is soaking right now, so I should be able to kick them all off tomorrow afternoon or evening. I will try and take all the cuttings the same size and from the same level of the Mum but because I'll be needing at least 50 it may be a bit tricky... ![]()

Ok Mate,,,, as per your invitation via PM’s I’ll join the fray…. I won’t be cloning as many as you,,,, only 12,,,, and my method would take up too much room to clone the number that you require,,,,, but,,,, for those looking for smaller numbers of clones,,,, I think it’s ideal (and pretty damn cheap)….. I’ll be using a 12 qt. Rubbermaid for a container, with a 19 qt Rubbermaid for a humidity dome,,,, four 5” air stones, and two 30 gallon aquarium pumps to bubble spray the cuttings…. Lighting will be provided by a 70w MH bulb……. I’ll run to the store tomorrow and pick up some fresh air stones,,,, my old ones (10”) just couldn’t cover the area sufficiently, and left dry spots (moving the cuttings around was a pain) because the air exited the easiest route,,, and that didn’t make for great coverage…. I fully expect to get 12 clones,,, and will explain at what point they should be moved to their new medium…….. Bear

Hopefully I'm not too late to mention this; You need to make new holes in your RW cubes as the factory stamped ones are generally too big. It's no use if the cutting is like a dick in a sock,it needs to be held firm and snug otherwise it won't be able to pull any moisture into the stem and your cuttings will quickly go to shit.I generally find a match stick or old piece of dry plant stem works the best.Make sure when you place the stem in that you don't crimp it and that it goes no further than 2/3 of an inch into the cube. If you think that new EZ pump is bad....imagine when it was over twice the power. I won't be online much this week as the computer I usually post with has just packed up.Not ideal but there you go.Ultimately though it doesn't matter which method works and others will be on hand for advice if need be. All the best, dev ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Here lately I have had trouble with my clones as well. I blame it partly on the genetics I have been cloning. I still get a 100% success rate, but it seems as though they are taking longer to root and go through some sort of deficiency before they finally root 2 weeks after I take them. Are you and Mr. Burns cloning the same strains? That is the only real way that this can be tested. Different strains clone differently. But this should still be interesting to say the least. subscribed

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hmm... My cloning adventures won't be happening for a solid month and half or two months, maybe even longer, but it is always good to know. Count me in. (By the way, DF, great idea for a thread!)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well damn, he did kick this thread off!! Good on you Dark Fox and Mr Burns (new cabs almost built BTW burnsy). In a few days I'll be doing another go with my method, but it'll be a first attempt in an untested space. My hopes arent high for success with recent RH readings of 25% and lower but we will soon see. Like the title of "Ice Cream Clones" that had me going. ![]() Good luck you two, and to that S.O.B. you got joining in. This is going to be interesting to say the least.

I was hoping you would Bear... A bubbler cloner was the "+" I wanted to be the 9"+". That's got to be pretty much every major method and system covered... ![]() Quote:
That'll be another thing I got wrong last time too then, most of the cuts were spinning like ballerinas.. Quote:
You're right of course, but no, the cuts aren't coming from the same stock or strain. Although he's a good pal, Burnsy and I don't know each other offline so passing clone stock may be tricky... I would say though, and this is important, this is not a race to see which method or machine roots fastest (When the same stock from the same Mum would be most critical), this is about which method works best for us. Speaking for myself, I don't care if a system takes 5 days or 15, it's whether it's very low on maintenance, has a decent % success, and can cope with high numbers. Quote:
Man, you're system started the prettiest of the lot, with the little coloured hats!! It's a bit more business like now though... ![]() Which neatly bring me onto.... The set up. ![]()
