Lookin might fine thar FREAKY!

Could you have started with a dark "storage" type bin?
does the foil tape help other than keeping light out?

I am planing to use the pipe insulation from Home DePot, it's a foam tube that wraps around the hot water pipe lines. 1 costs $2.00, and I'll cut it into 60 @ 1inch pieces. I must drill 1'' holes in my lid.

High Craveshop! No 420 for me today - had to do that work thang. Thanks for the thought though

High EZ! I want the "res" to reflect light and heat, so i used the foil tape. The pipe insulation is a great idea. Gonna post it?

This is a great thread for someone who has been wondering whether to spend $80-$300 bucks on some 'professional' cloning machine. I almost did that about a year ago, till I saw one of these in another thread. Being the tightwad that I am, my variation to this is that I just use soda straws from Subway, or the slurpee stand at WalMart; just grab a fistful when no one is looking.

Make the holes in the lids a little tight for these straws, slice the straw to lenth, slit it lengthwise and label it with a sharpee. Pull it apart, slip the cutting in and set it to depth in the lid. Just my

Freak, you always give great tutorials! I think you're the man that taught me all I needed to know about LST.

regards

Pops

PS those straws come in handy when i accidentally bend a limb moving around the grow room. I use them for 'splints' on the limb in the same way: cut to length and slit length-wise.

High Poppa Seed! Thank you so much for stopping by. Your posts have inspired me since I joined this site.

I have covered the lid in the foil tape. I then used a pencil to poke holes in the tape that was covering the holes drilled in the lid. This worked very well. A small hole was poked in the center and pushed the tape down around the sides of the hole in the lid, giving me a tighter fit with the tubing that holds the clones. Did that make sense?

A hole was drilled into the side of the bucket to allow for passage of the air line. The air was put through the hole and attached to the 10" airstone. I'll see how this stone works. I can always change it out. I then wrapped the tubing with more foil tape to make it somewhat light proof. I taped it about eight inches from the bucket.

I then cut tubing in approximately 1 1/2 inch lengths and placed them through the holes in the lid. Been thinking about this a lot. That's not a very big hole to get the new roots through. I'll have to pm Spirit of Bear on how he does this. I may adjust things a bit with 2 inch holes and foam discs. I'll keep ya posted, ok? These smaller pieces of tubing will be warpped in foil tape as well.

all for now

everyone have a great weekend!

I once spent 6-7 bucks on cloning solution, a spray bottle, and a little home for the newbies. It worked great.

Thats one Freaky tub show you're putting on there.
Your doing well,
Its looking great!

I am agonizing over that right now. It will be interesting to see if you can replicate SOB's success. I wonder if this idea could be translated to a 60 site operation . . .

As long as you have a large enough container and enough bubbles then yes you could. Hell you could make a 1000 site cloner if you wanted to.

I've got a totes the size of a shoebox with about 25 holes in the lid, but I believe I could easily get twice as many in there.

To promote confiscated materials even more: I have broken some roots pulling the little darlins out of the lid. But I just take the straw out first, separate it carefully from the rooted clone and ease the roots out of that little hole slowly and carefully. If you wait until you have a good 4-5 long roots, breaking one doesn't usually hurt.

Oh and I ran the air line through the lid, so when I change water, I can just lay the lid and stone aside, and take the 'tank' out and empty it.

To each his own. Here's to DIY!!

Smoke 'em if ya got em... Carry on.

Poppa, do you just have the clones supported by the tubes or are the anchored somehow? I may be making one tonight, we’ll see.
