OK, Campers, I can't take credit for this bubble cloner. This is an attempt to make the homemade cloner used by Spirit of Bear, here in the Garden. You can see it in action here. It looked so simple I just had to try it.
So here we go.
Shopping list:

2 20 quart sterlite storage containers or rubbermade, or whatever. $3.63 each at Walmart

1 roll of Foil tape, $9 at Home Depot. This stuff is reflective, great for light proofing the containers, and sticks to damn near everything for a long long time.

1 ten inch air stone $3 at Walmart - cheap and replaceable

1 Tetra Whisper air pump, $10 at Walmart. This model is suitable for 10-30 gallon aquariums. If It's not enough, I have a 4 outlet dual diaphragm air pump from General Hydronics that'll blow the lid off this cloner if need be.

1 package of air tubing. $2.65 at Walmart. At this point, I'm not worried about it being clear.

so far we are at about $30 give or take.

Tools needed:

a drill. I will be using a Black and Decker 4 amp variable speed drill
drill bits

OK, this is a pain in the butt. First off, you need to tape the container. Be sure you overlap the tape to insure there are no light leaks.

That foil tape you're using, its the stuff with the peel off backing, right? Not the standard duct tape? One role was enough to cover both containers?

Here i have marked the lid and then drilled holes in it using a 7/32 inch drill bit. This is just big enough for the 7.62mm tubing to fit through to hold each clone. I drilled ten holes. I usually will drop five beans at a time so that gives me 2 clones from each plant. Then once the clones start showing roots, I can then sex the bigger plants, toss the clones from the males, select a breeding pair and get r done!

Anyway, the lid will be covered in the foil tape as well.I will cover all the holes then poke through with a pencil or something. This should tighten the holes just enough to hold the tubing in place.
