When you wrap the layer up with the press 'n seal it is very important to make sure the sealed edges of the wrap are on the OPPOSITE side of the split in the starter cube. This will prevent you from ripping open the layer and damaging the roots when you unwrap it. Here it is sealed. Now secure it at the top and bottom with the twist ties. These same ties double as an anchor if you have to support the branch. I use dowel rods stuck into my media. A small tomatoe cage would be great. I use a bottle with a mild sea weed solution. I took the guts out of a ball point pen ink tube, cut the end at an angle to make a big syringe. You can use what you like but you might have some layers that are drying out. This is how you re-moisturize them. Don't keep them wet! Just poke it through the wrapper and squeeze. I use this syringe very rarely. Here one is that is ready. You can see the roots here (sorry I lost the good shots. Keep an eye open for them.): I let them sit over night. If they wilt I leave them until they "puff" back up (1-4days). If they don't wilt, then depending on the size I want, they go right into the flower room. I bet this looks better than any cutting at 16 days! That is basically it. Remember you can take any size cutting you want this way. Happy layering: Nothing better than some KB on the lake. Sailing rules!

I really appreciate the addition of the pictures bro. Everything looks about as simple as it can. The plug you use looks to make things 100times easier then trying to pack soil around the area. Very well layed out. Thanks a ton for sharing!!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | im gonna try this with a mullberry tree at my friends house. I always wanted to grow mullberries, but i never wanted to start it from seed.. that would take years! I'll probably leave the tie on there for a good year anyways just to make sure its got good roots.

I am starting an sog and this will be one of the ways I try as I search for the one that works for me best. What happens to the next couple of branchs just below the wrap? Does that 'growing tip hormone' (cant remember what its called) go into effect causing lateral branching as the top roots? It would truly be sweet if you were starting two new clone sites as you rooted your top. That would really speed up, or compress cloning production, Wouldn't it? It would seem like minimal shock to the mom. I will have to take a closer look at your pics.

Looked at the pics and can't really see if branching is occuring due to the wrap, but I suppose you could give it a bend just before or just after the wrap to encourage that, so no problem there. I also suppose that you could do this at multiple sites on the same plant, at the same time??? Flarny, do your plants show any sign of stress from this procedure? I bet not. Add to this the clone getting nourishment from the stem while rooting. This must reduce the time from cutting/wraping to rooted clone to flowering lighting significantly. Seems like a very elegant process. You could take one clone from a host, then 2 from the lateral branching, then 4......or LST a mom till it has multiple sights and start there. Does this make sense, or am I high? (well, I know I am high) I find this exciting, yep, I am high all right.

I am glad ya'll like it. Lateral branching does occur without any coaxing, so yes, you will have two sites for the next layer and so forth. I always have a few going on each plant. My rule of thumb is if it looks like I will have to cut it off in a couple of weeks to keep it from growing into my light then it will be layered. So far I have managed to keep all of my moms under 30 inches pretty consistantly and at the same time getting clones. It isn't 100% but it is as close as you get. I've lost only one out of about 50 so far. As it is now, I put from 6 to 8 layers in to flower every couple of weeks

Here are the picture I promised. Here is the layer after it has been cut from the mom. Open carefully! Thats what I'm talk'n about! Then they go in here. ...and after nine weeks the super silver haze looks like this: God is awsome!

For some reason I am not sure if my last post worked correctly. When I check it on one machine I can't see the photos, and when I check it on another machine I can. What is the verdict? Can you guys see the photos attached to the post titled missing photos?
