![]() | I tried cloning two ways. First I used peat pellets and peat pots. They had about an 80% survival rate. Take a healthy clipping like 4-6'', cut it diagonal, then moisten the stem, dip in root hormone powder, then stick in expanded peat pellet. If you follow proper irrigation techniques you should SEE roots in 7-10 days. The other way takes a little longer but 100% survival rate. Insted of taking a 4-6'' clipping, take an 8-10'' clipping and do what smokinrav's wonderful pics show us to do. As long as you have a green thumb before you try these methods, you will be pleased. I notice some of these people expect the plants to just grow and bud, not respecting natures course. Patience is the biggest factor and to anyone who is reading this do not give up, experiment, read, and be patient. I once had a clone in h2o for two weeks, I did not give up and it rooted just fine. Just remember when the clipping is in its SHOCK stage, do not stress the poor plants, put them in a moderatly lit area and wait. The clippings do not have roots so they cannot use the light how it wants.

Thanks to a disaster one of my fair ladies has just lost her cola. She's been 12/12 for 3 weeks in soil under fluoros using Superthrive and, since 3 Aug, a couple of "Jobe's fertilizer spikes" for tomatoes, which are 8-24-8. I've stuck the cola in a glass of water but wonder what kind of light I should expose this to - 24/0 I'm guessing (?). Also, will the cola-less plant die? If not, should I leave it at 12/12 or bring it back to 24/0? It's only 16" tall now with 10 branches *sniff*... also lost a couple of branches from the cola-less plant which I've also stuck in water in hope! Thanks for any help...

They suck man, for many reasons... http://www.hempcultivation.com/420/s...der=descending ..as far as the (now) clone goes, put her on a windowsill that gets no direct sunlight. Make sure of this. Direct sunlight will bleach out whatever chlorophyll is in the leavs amking it impossible for the roots that develop to be sustained. I learned this the hard way recently. Check the pics on the first page. So far that plant is doing well. Just wait till the roots are an inch long before transplant. Only thing I would do different is use a humidity dome and weaker light. Oh, trim the cola off the plant(if there is one). The less of this that has to be turned to stem the quicker you will see branching from your clone in veg. Im assuming this cuz my plant is like a little ball of leaves, with no outward growth yet. Ill put a pic of it up tonight Smokin

Thanks man... south facing windowsill it is - I'm in the S hemisphere and we only get 9.5hrs of daylight at the mo' tho' (damn winter!) - still ok you reckon? I'll get those spikes out then... I also have them in my 3 other gals' pots but they've only been in 9 days... couldn't find any other hi-P fert at the supermarket! Look forward to seeing your pic. What happened to your cola-less plant after decapitation? Not too sure of what exactly I should cut off my 'head'. Only spotted her white hairs on 3 Aug so she's not as 'flowery' as yours looks. Thx again dude...

Still working on the best way to transppant to a soil medium, thos this would be perfect for hydro growers, I would think crmz: Yeah, treat like a normally rooted plant in veg growth. pic coming... Smokin

a little ball of leaves, you can just now see the branching lifting away from the former bud

I cut the cola off these girls, taken almost seven weeks into flower. they have been in the water for 5 days, I expect roots in the next couple. The different things Im going to try with these are keeping them in the windowsill after transplant, to keep light levels low. In addition, I may use a humidity dome. Seems it may work better than the multi daily spraying I was doing
