![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok so after pondering it more and more and checking my cash flow, i decided what the hell i have nothing to lose to make a dehumidifier i have all the parts laying around.... and here it is..... two peltier plates a bunch of copper and a old power supply..... after maybe 10 min it had condensation on it already(you can see in the pics) and its in a room that has very little humidity already..... I will hang it in the grow cab asap and see how much water it collects...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the link. I was looking for the last night and today and couldn't find one under $160. I had one that was 80 from Walmart but it didn't work too well. Now that I read your whole thread where did you get those plates? That sounds like a nice little project and you could control it a better.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well it did one of the things i wanted it to, which was keep the ambient night temps above 70....... it does remove humidity, im not sure how much though since I had a major design flaw.......the water leaked back into the cab instead of draining out.......it had maybe an ounce or two inside of it when i opened it up today(it was running for about 12 hours) so thats not too bad i would think however, i think my plants are drinking and transpiring sooo much water it might just not be enough. Im somewhat thinking these small peltier dehumidifiers would work best with 2-4 plants in a very small cab, smaller than mine which is only 12 sq feet(78 cubic feet) I will either redo mine so that the water will drain properly or possibly just buy one and compare the results, im half curious to see if i built mine right........I cant afford a larger model so i might just gamble the 40$ and see what happens, if not theres always ebay right? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You could move to my state where we have an average of about 20% RH. If you go to a humidistat website they wil have a chart that shows the amount of water that can be held at what temp for the RH at any given humidity. That may help ya a bit. Nice DIY too! Russ

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ok so i have not slept much so if i messed up some math or something im not gonna be too shocked..... this website gave me the formulas i used to find the density of the water vapor in the air at 30 c and 84% RH what I came up with was approx 13 ounces / cubic meter and my cab is about 2 cubic meters giving me 26 ounces of water in the air....? does this even sound a little bit right gals and guys? ima take a nap and then redo my math in the mean time maybe someone who uses math more frequently than I can give it a whack and tell me how many ounces of water i have when my temps are 30 c and 84% RH.....
