lol im totally not sold on the banana religion.... i prefer bagseed cause i know they are "feminized" seeds. they come from a local grower that occasionaly gets herms... thusly seeds from a female plant. and where did you think all those high dollar feminized seeds came from? no banana religion and im 4/4 on females.. outdoor mex weed im 2/2 on males.

Seeds that come from hermies tend to be hermies although you will get some females. In order to to get real feminized seeds, there a couple diffrent methods, one that i can compleatly explain is where you grow a femal plants past harvest time, the female plant will eventually grow male pollen sacks right before it dies, you snip the pollen sacks off without making them burst, put them in a plastic bag and stick em in the fride, now you grow another fmale plant, when it has buds on it you take the pollen from the previous female, and paint it on the buds using a very fine brush.
there are other methods also, but not one of them is taking seeds from a true hermie plant.

i am in no way in the business of growing seeds, pollen sacks or anything with either one.

i cant swear on my life his plant herm'd, maybe there was pollen stuck to the wall, some in the air system who knows? all i know is for every pound he grows theres about 5-10 seeds at the bottom of the bag, i always assume herm cause i know he culls the males..maybe he just got one too late? who knows. also never has a single one hermd on me or been anything other than a female. i could be crazy, or just plain wrong. but if it aint broke dont fix it!

i was always told fem seeds come from herm plants, which made sense to me. growing is largely a "black art" surrounded by disinformation. i just go with what i believe to be true and usually shit works out...

if you are allowed to believe the ethylene gas from one ripening banana {in a ventilated box} will force your plant to be a fem, i am allowed to believe fem seeds come from hermies.

you can get fem seeds from a hermie, but you would get mostly hermies, a hermie is basically an inbred plant, so its genetics are gonna be a little screwed up. I'm not trying to say your seeds aren't fems, but your should ask your guy how he does it becasue when a plant hermie's you will get way more then 5 seeds a pound, matter of fact almost half your wieght will be in seeds becase the pollen sacks grow inside the bud.


BTW, the bannanna thing does work, even though ive never tried it. alot of people swear by it, and i dont think they would if it didn't work, does'nt work every time though, i've heard of people soaking seeds in ethylene for a certian amount of time to make the become feminized and that would probably be a better method I would think.

As for the Bananas, I'm not sure. The word is to add the bananas for weeks 3 & 4 of veg. I took cuttings last fri. and put them streight in to 12/12 in water. The clones are still going , I'm waiting very patiently to see what happens.
I believe that I will start from scratch in a few months with some DP BlueBerry, and maybe some papya, or Orange Bud at three weeks I'll take cuttings, and add the Bananas. Then after the 3rd and 4th weeks are over, I'll take cuttings again. What do you guys think?

I'm venting with a bath ex fan that is super quite, it runs about 100-150 CFMs.I cut four disc from one of those pool noodles for feet for my fan, Then I cut a hole in the back of the plastic and put the 4" outlet out the hole. On the other end I made another 4" hole and stuck about a 3" piece of dryer hose in the hole and coiled it up to prevent the light from escaping.

im not saying my seeds are anything special, and he damn sure doesnt do it on purpose. i have just noticed there seems to be one bud that has a couple seeds in it. never more but often less. maybe its dumb luck. i know his plants come from nirvana seed. so who could tell?? but when they pop they are always girls, and whenever my brother gives me shitty bag seed they are always males... lol maybe i should invest in lottery tickets?

even if you let a plant go really long and it develops pollen sacks later on isnt that still a herm? if it once had flowers and now has pollen im callin it a hermie!

light leaks are a bitch... did you paint the inside of your vent tubing flat black? or is a coil enough to make it not leak light?

not really, a true hermie produces sacks and bud at the same time, what i'm talking about is a plant thats trying to carry on its strain, but yes technicly it may be a hermie, but the big difference is that you use that pollen from that plant to pollenate a diffrent female plant. When you get seeds from the plant that pollenated itself, thats when you usually run into trouble.

If your guys not doing anything special, you should ask him to observe his plants more closely to try to see whats really going on, i'd like to know., and i'm sure others would too
